Peter McCreanor BA (Hons), PGCE, DIP Hypnotherapy, Mindfulness Teaching Practitioner Certificate
I have worked in education as a teacher for many years, teaching children from age 7 up to young adults of 18. I am now able to draw on my teaching skills as a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness practitioner. My aim is to teach you the skills you need to make positive changes in your life.
Through challenges in my life I came to hypnotherapy and mindfulness and have found them to be amazing in transforming the way I think and behave as a result. I was so fired up by this new knowledge that I decided to train as a Clinical Hypnotherapist and Mindfulness Practitioner at Central England College in Birmingham. It was one of the best decisions I could have made.
I work in a relaxed and informal style and my aim is that we work together to help you. My therapy room is a relaxed and calm environment where you can feel at ease. Please feel free to contact me by phone or email, so that we can start to make positive changes for you.
How I can help?
You maybe visiting this page because you are struggling with confidence or dealing with stress and anxiety. Or perhaps you would like to reduce your alcohol intake, lose weight or improve your sports performance. Perhaps you would just like to view the world in a more calm manner.
Would you like to be listened to in a tranquil setting by someone who is non judgemental and is able to help you make sense of your problems?
Through hypnotherapy or mindfulness my aim is to make your situation better.
So how does it work?
Initially, once you have made contact with me via email or phone, I will ask you to fill in a form, giving me some details about yourself and outlining what you would like to change in your life. We can then arrange a free 30 minute consultation, where once we have established how you would like to change and what will improve your life, we will plan a programme together to help achieve this.
Hypnotherapy is a complimentary therapy which enables you to enjoy being in a relaxed state in order to you use suggestion to make positive change. When in a relaxed state the unconscious part of your mind is more open to suggestion . It is amazing to know that you have the capabilities to make these changes with some guidance from me. I will teach you strategies and techniques to use in everyday life. Self-hypnosis takes a little practise but is incredibly powerful. I have used this to great effect with both myself and many clients.
Most of us at some time having been driving along a motorway and time seems to disappear, as we have covered a distance with very little recollection of it. This also happens in daily life, as the daily treadmill carries us along. Mindfulness encourages us to allow some time for ourselves and encourages us to experience life not just exist and be carried along in autopilot.
Mindfulness is having an awareness of the present moment. It is consciously and deliberately focussing on the now, not dwelling on the past or speculating about the future. Sometimes this involves meditation, where you focus on breathing, physical sensations or emotional feelings.
There are so many proven benefits of mindfulness. They include an increase in calm and relaxation, an ability to deal with stress and anxiety, higher levels of energy and enthusiasm, increased self-confidence and a greater sense of compassion for ourselves and others, which leads to an improvement in our relationships.
There is much evidence showing that by developing a regular mindfulness practise you can increase happiness, positivity, patience and calmness, as well as reducing stress. You experience life and enjoy many aspects which you have just let drift past.
I have practised mindfulness for many years and have seen the wonderful effect first hand. Come and try it. You will leave my therapy room more relaxed and chilled. It really is very enjoyable.
